I’m a mom.
I’m a daughter.
I’m a clinical social worker.
I’m interested in helping you, and I’m no stranger to postpartum adjustment issues! Click here to read a bit about my personal connection to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
I completed my Masters degree in Applied Sociology in 2007. Feeling called to pursue a career based more in serving others, I returned to graduate school and received my MSW from University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2012. I obtained my professional license to practice independently as a clinical social worker in 2015.
After becoming a mom in 2014, I became particularly aware of how much support new moms (and parents) need. I’ve talked to many moms who felt isolated, detached, and scared after childbirth. While they found their way through, it would have been easier if they had more supportive resources. I said to my husband one day, “You know what I really want to do? I want to work with new moms!” It felt so true and so close to my heart, and I knew I had found my niche.
Soon after, I started working towards developing Nesting Space Therapy LLC and I completed the Postpartum Support International and 2020 Mom Professional Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training. Throughout this process, I learned how much all parents, not just moms, might need perinatal support, so I decided to make sure to include the dads as well. I’m excited that this business is coming together, and I’m looking forward to offering services to parents who can use them. I’m also attuned at Reiki Level II.
